Arrowmax has launched the Arrowspace S1 electric screwdriver on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, featuring a built-in camera and artificial intelligence algorithms to automatically determine the required drill bit. According to The Verge, manufacturers like Hoto and Fanttik have already significantly raised the bar in the design and functionality of electric screwdrivers, but Arrowmax has focused on intelligent user assistance designed to eliminate common fastening errors. The core concept of the device is to free the craftsman from guessing the bit size and prevent stripped screw heads caused by using an improper attachment.
Screw Recognition via Camera and Contact Probe
A camera with LED illumination is located at the bottom of the Arrowspace S1 body. Next to it is a retractable high-precision contact probe that rests against the screw surface to secure the optimal distance between the lens and the fastener, ensuring a sharp image. After the AI analyzes the snapshot, the companion mobile application displays information on the type and size of the required bit, as well as a safe torque value, reducing the risk of damaging the screw during tightening.
Smart Case with LED Bit Illumination
To eliminate the need to search for a bit manually, the optional smart case includes a set of 52 steel bits. An LED indicator is installed next to each bit, lighting up exclusively beside the attachment that the screwdriver has determined is necessary for the current screw. Thus, the system covers the entire cycle: from fastener recognition to pointing out the specific location within the case.
Battery Life and OLED Display
The battery capacity is 600 mAh, which the developer claims is sufficient for 90 minutes of operation or driving and removing more than 900 screws. Battery life can be extended by disabling the automatic torque adjustment and setting it manually. The screwdriver's OLED screen displays the remaining battery charge, current torque value, and selected rotation direction.
Pre-order Price and Delivery Timeline
Pre-orders are already open on Kickstarter: the Arrowspace S1 screwdriver alone is priced at $79, while the kit with the smart bit case costs $129. Deliveries of the device are expected no earlier than April 2027, which is typical for crowdfunding projects manufactured in Asia. At the time of publication, the device is in the pre-order stage and not available for general retail sale.
