Great Britain has decided to provide Ukraine with additional financial assistance spanning three years. According to RBC-Ukraine and UNIAN, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram following a conversation with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The total amount of the new support is 10 billion British pounds, which, according to the publication's estimates, is equivalent to approximately 13.3 billion US dollars. Zelenskyy called the decision "important" and thanked London for its "unwavering, strong, and truly leadership-driven support."

Package Structure: 7 Billion for the Economy and 3 for Defense

The Ukrainian President clarified the distribution of funds within the three-year package. Seven billion pounds will be directed toward Ukraine's economic support over the next three years. Another three billion pounds will comprise British export support, which, according to Zelenskyy, is intended primarily for supplying necessary weapons to enhance defense capabilities. Thus, the defense and economic components are separated but integrated into a single multi-year mechanism.

Supplement to Existing Annual Aid

It should be emphasized that the new package does not replace, but rather complements, the annual support that Great Britain is already providing to Ukraine. Zelenskyy regarded the move as "strong and very timely," stating that Russia must see and feel that Ukraine will not be left alone with the problems the aggressor seeks to amplify. According to him, every step to strengthen Ukraine brings Russia closer to realizing the war must end.

Sanctions and Relations with the US

During the conversation, the parties also discussed sanctions policy against the aggressor state. Zelenskyy expressed confidence that Britain "will remain principled" on this issue, calling London's position a "globally important example." Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that British Prime Minister Andy Burnham aims to help Ukraine improve relations with the US, making the new package part of a broader diplomatic line.

Accelerating Delivery of Anti-Shahed Missiles

In addition to financial support, Great Britain intends to accelerate the supply of light multi-role missiles to Ukraine, which, according to reports, are effectively used to intercept Shahed jet drones. Concurrently, London is preparing new sanction measures against Russia. The combination of these steps—the financial package, export defense support, accelerated arms deliveries, and expanded sanctions—forms the updated architecture of British assistance for the next three years.
