RoboParty startup has made a breakthrough in robotics by introducing the RP1 humanoid, positioned as the first high-performance open-source android with a complete technology stack. The device was unveiled at the prestigious IROS 2026 exhibition, where the development attracted immense attention from specialists and the general public. The creators emphasize that the primary goal of the project is to provide researchers and engineers worldwide with an accessible hardware and software base.

Demonstrating Capabilities at IROS 2026 Exhibition

As part of the exposition, visitors were able to personally assess the android's stability and reaction through an interactive test known as Kick Me. Exhibition guests approached the robot and kicked it with their feet, testing the machine's ability to maintain balance in real-time. Unlike staged demonstrations with hard-coded animations, RP1 instantly adapted its body position, parrying external impacts and successfully restoring balance after every push.

Technology Stack and PartyOS Software Platform

The robot owes its impressive dynamic performance and speed to the specialized PartyOS operating system. This open-source technological platform was designed by RoboParty engineers from scratch using the advanced UFO framework. The platform ensures the integration of all android systems, allowing the processing of sensor data and the issuing of control commands with minimal latency, which is critical for dynamic balancing.

Significance for the Embodied Artificial Intelligence Industry

According to company founder Juan, humanoid robots should not remain closed proprietary systems locked inside tech giants' laboratories. By opening access to blueprints, schematics, and source code, the startup aims to accelerate the evolution of embodied artificial intelligence (embodied AI). Developers worldwide can now modify, train, and scale the capabilities of RP1, integrating it into real workflows without licensing restrictions.
