At the 140th Canton Fair, Chinese manufacturer Doogee unveiled its new Note60 W smartphone, which instantly caught the attention of journalists and enthusiasts thanks to its unusual form factor and striking visual resemblance to the flagship Huawei Pura X View. The device is positioned as featuring a non-standard wide-format 6.38-inch display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, alongside a large 6500 mAh battery. At the time of its premiere, the smartphone already came pre-installed with Android 17, which is a rather rare and noticeable solution for the budget and mid-range segment.
Design: Almost a Copy of Huawei Pura X View
The main topic of discussion following the presentation was the visual identity between the Note60 W and the Huawei Pura X View. The similarities can be seen in the design and layout of the main camera module, the decorative stripes on the back panel, the placement of the brand logo, and even the factory wallpapers used. The only detail that immediately sets Doogee's new device apart is the noticeably wider bottom screen bezel, which makes the front of the device less symmetrical than the Huawei original. Thus, Doogee has essentially replicated not only the technical but also the design solutions of its competitor, which is not uncommon in the Chinese smartphone industry, but in this case looks particularly straightforward.
Screen and Body Dimensions
According to promotional materials published by the manufacturer, the thickness of the Note60 W body is about 8.4 mm, which looks like a quite competitive figure for a smartphone with a 6500 mAh battery. The display aspect ratio differs from what most modern smartphones are used to—here, the focus is on a wide format, presumably tailored for media consumption and reading. At the same time, the screen resolution and several other key display characteristics were not disclosed at the time of the premiere, making a full assessment of image quality and brightness currently impossible.
Battery, Software, and What's Still Missing
The 6500 mAh battery combined with pre-installed Android 17 forms the core of Doogee's argument: the manufacturer is betting on autonomy and up-to-date firmware. However, the company has not announced the price of the smartphone or the full list of specifications, including the processor, memory capacity, and camera parameters. This means the Note60 W remains a "semi-mystery" for now: its appearance and some key figures are known, but commercial and technical details will be revealed later. Nevertheless, the very fact that a device has appeared, stylistically copied after the Huawei Pura X View, already indicates where Doogee intends to shift its focus within its lineup.
