On the morning of October 18, emergency power outages were reintroduced in the Odesa region. The reason is a new Russian air attack on the region's energy infrastructure facilities. According to DTEK, the company's energy facility sustained damage as a result of the strike, forcing a transition to an emergency blackout mode. 24.1 thousand families in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Izmail, and Bolhrad districts of the region were left without electricity.

Scale of outages in the Odesa region

As reported by DTEK, the damaged energy infrastructure facility led to a significant portion of consumers in three districts of the Odesa region being left without power supply. The total number of affected households is 24.1 thousand families. The company notes that the destruction is extensive, and restoring the damaged equipment takes time, which is why emergency outages remain in effect.

Vinnytsia and Ternopil regions

In the Vinnytsia region, critical infrastructure facilities were destroyed as a result of a Russian air attack on October 18. Emergency power cuts were implemented in the region, and, according to estimates, the situation will remain unstable in the near future. In the Ternopil region on the same morning, Russian drones hit energy facilities, leaving some consumers without power supply as a result.

Kyiv region: scheduled blackout schedules temporarily suspended

In the Kyiv region, emergency power cuts were introduced on October 18. Due to this, the previously active schedules of planned blackouts are temporarily not applied, and the outage mode is determined based on the actual emergency load on the grid.

Infrastructure restoration

Power engineers in all affected regions are working to return electricity to consumers' homes as quickly as possible. However, as DTEK emphasizes, the scale of destruction and the need to repair damaged equipment mean that the normalization of power supply will take time, and in some regions, the instability regime may persist in the coming hours and days.
