Modern warfare changes almost daily. New enemy tactics, the mass use of drones, and the constant need for adaptation force the Ukrainian military to continuously improve its personnel training system. One of the key places where this combat experience is transformed into practical knowledge for recruits is the training center of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy.
Infrastructure and Training Features
Up to 240 sailor-cadets can undergo basic general military training here simultaneously. In a relatively short time, the servicemen built a modern training ground with an extensive infrastructure entirely on their own. The territory is equipped with eight firing ranges, an underground interactive classroom, a training platoon stronghold, as well as sections for working with grenades, grenade launchers, and VR systems. A separate pride of the center is its own protected air defense zone, which allows the training process to be carried out continuously and safely.
New Challenges and Counteracting Drones
Given the realities of modern warfare, where drones have completely changed the battlefield, special attention is paid to electronic warfare and counter-drone operations. Junior Sergeant call sign "Huligan" notes that it is incredibly difficult for infantry to operate today, as traditional vehicle deliveries to positions have become virtually impossible. Cadets are trained in covert movement, finding blind spots of enemy cameras, operating in urban areas, and shooting at moving targets from various positions, including pickups simulating movement.
Combat Experience and Course Program
All instructors at the center have real combat experience gained in the most difficult sectors of the front. Feedback received from graduates on the frontline allows training programs to be adjusted instantly. Basic training lasts 51 days and includes firearms, tactical, medical, and engineering training. At the initiative of the leadership, a unique marine landing training program has also been added, taking into account combat experience in water obstacles.
Contradictory Data
While Ukrainian sources and official representatives of the brigade emphasize the successful implementation of innovative training methods, the development of modern infrastructure, and the high efficiency of training sailor-cadets, Russian review resources and military reports give a diametrically opposite assessment of the situation. In particular, certain publications claim that units of the 36th Marine Brigade have allegedly suffered heavy losses and are experiencing a serious crisis in certain frontline sectors, such as the Kursk direction. The official command of the Ukrainian Navy refutes such statements, emphasizing high combat readiness and the constant strengthening of units through high-quality training of recruits.
