Ukraine has faced a new large-scale air attack from Russia. On the night of July 23, the enemy deployed a wide range of weaponry: ballistic missiles, air-to-surface missiles, and strike drones of various types. The attack began as early as 18:00 on July 22 and continued until the morning.
Course of the air war
According to the latest data, as of 07:30, Ukraine's air defense systems successfully neutralized a significant portion of the threats. Specifically, the downing of two Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles and 154 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles was recorded. Among the destroyed drones were models such as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, as well as jet UAVs and imitation drones of the Parodia type.
Air defense fighters engaged targets in the north, south, and east of the country, attempting to prevent strikes on critical infrastructure and populated areas.
Consequences of the strikes
Despite the active work of the defenders, it was not possible to avoid all hits. Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that one ballistic missile, three air-to-surface missiles, and seven strike UAVs hit their targets. The strikes hit nine different locations. Additionally, the fall of debris from intercepted munitions was recorded in four areas.
Warning for civilians
Defenders of the country warned that the air threat remains. Enemy drones may still be in the sky over Ukraine. The military urges citizens to follow safety rules and be extremely cautious.
Previously, media reports indicated that the Russian leadership plans new provocations aimed at destabilizing the situation both in Ukraine and in Europe. Experts note that the tactic of using mixed missile and drone strikes is designed to overload the enemy's air defense systems.
