The Russian logistics infrastructure, serving as the lifeblood of the country's largest marketplace, Wildberries, has faced an unprecedented crisis. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, confirmed by analytical reports, seven out of the ten largest distribution centers of the company on the territory of the Russian Federation have been put out of action. This large-scale blow to logistics is the result of a series of coordinated drone attacks carried out over the past few days.

Large-Scale Strike on the Moscow Region

The culmination of this series of attacks was the event of the night of August 16, 2026. During a large-scale operation, drones struck key objects in the Moscow region. In particular, a strike was delivered to the logistics hub in the "Koledino" industrial park (Domodedovo). This building, with an area of about 250 thousand square meters, was one of the company's largest warehouse complexes. After the strike, a large-scale fire broke out on the warehouse territory, completely paralyzing the work of this hub.

Strategy of Strikes on Supply Chains

The attacks are not limited to the capital region. On the night of August 14, Ukrainian forces struck a large Wildberries train located 150 km from Moscow. Earlier, satellite images recorded the aftermath of an attack on an object in Bashkortostan, where fire destroyed almost 30 thousand square meters of the building, which amounted to about one-fifth of the entire complex. These data indicate a systematic approach to destroying the logistics chains connecting various regions of Russia.

Official Position of Kyiv

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine commented on the situation, stating that Russian logistics "is acutely feeling the consequences of the war that the RF brought to Ukraine". The key goal of these operations is not just to cause material damage, but to create a systemic crisis for the Russian economy, which depends on the uninterrupted operation of marketplaces. Putting 70% of the largest Wildberries hubs out of action puts the entire system of goods delivery across the country at risk.

Contradictory Data

There is a discrepancy in the assessment of the total damage to the warehouse infrastructure. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine states that 7 out of 10 largest centers have been put out of action, which implies a critical failure in the company's work. At the same time, Russian sources, such as Pravda.ru, estimate the damage to the warehouse infrastructure of Wildberries and Russ as amounting to about 10% of the total volume. This discrepancy may be due to the fact that Russian sources take into account all damaged objects in aggregate, while the Ukrainian side focuses on the loss of key logistics nodes that ensure the main load.

Economic Consequences

The loss of such capacities as the hub in Koledino will inevitably lead to a collapse in delivery times and a shortage of goods on the marketplace shelves. Given that Wildberries holds a dominant position in Russian e-commerce, the paralysis of its logistics will hit millions of users and thousands of sellers. Restoring such objects will require colossal resources and time, especially in the conditions of ongoing military actions.
