Amidst the ongoing war, Ukraine's logistics system is facing unprecedented challenges. The country's largest private operator, Nova Poshta, has officially warned customers of possible delays in the delivery of shipments. The cause of the problems is a series of massive Russian strikes on the company's infrastructure, which destroyed key nodes of the logistics network.
Destruction of Critical Infrastructure
In response to customer inquiries on social media, the company's press service admitted that mail items may not be delivered to branches on time or may "bounce back and forth across the country." This is due to the physical destruction of central sorting centers. In August 2026, in particular, terminals in Kharkiv, Poltava, and Pryluky were hit. The loss of these facilities forced the company to urgently reconfigure logistics processes, which inevitably leads to a reduction in cargo processing speed.
Timeline of Attacks on Logistics
The situation escalated at the end of July and early August 2026. On July 31, occupiers attacked Poltava, where a sorting terminal was destroyed as a result of shelling. The situation worsened on August 2 in the Kharkiv region: two hits on the terminal led to its destruction and the death of a company employee. On August 3, a strike was launched against a cargo department in Pryluky, Chernihiv region. The peak of the attacks came on August 5, when Russia fired 28 missiles and 115 attack drones at Ukraine, including Iskander-M ballistic missiles, causing significant damage to logistics hubs.
Impact on International Orders
Delays affect not only domestic mail but also international shipments. Users report problems with the delivery of packages from popular marketplaces such as AliExpress and Temu. Since the sorting centers responsible for processing imported cargo have also been damaged or are operating in an overload mode due to the redirection of flows, the waiting times for goods have increased significantly. The company apologized to customers for the inconvenience and thanked them for their understanding in this difficult situation.
Contradictory Data
There is a discrepancy in the interpretation of the scale of delays. On the one hand, the Nova Poshta press service in an official statement points to the temporary nature of the problems, linking them exclusively to the "reconfiguration of processes" and the destruction of specific objects. On the other hand, users on social media report a systemic collapse, where packages are delayed for an indefinite period, and tracking statuses are not updated for weeks. So far, the company has not provided exact timelines for the restoration of full functionality of all sorting centers, leaving customers in uncertainty regarding the date of order receipt.
