The situation on the eastern front remains extremely tense. Russian forces have concentrated their main efforts on the Lyman direction, turning this sector into a key focal point. This was stated by Viktor Trezubov, Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a televised marathon.
Enemy strategic objectives
According to the Ukrainian officer, capturing the Lyman direction is of fundamental importance to the occupiers. The Russian side's plans are ambitious: by controlling this sector, they intend to advance further, aiming to break through to the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. This is why this section of the front has become a priority for the Russian command.
Tactics of small groups and resource pressure
Viktor Trezubov noted that the enemy is not changing its tactics, continuing to use small assault groups. The main method involves constant infiltration and attempts to create additional zones of control along the border. At the same time, according to the speaker, Russian troops do not face critical resource shortages, allowing them to exert pressure along almost the entire front line.
Record losses for the aggressor
Despite the concentration of forces and the availability of resources, the offensive is accompanied by huge human casualties. Trezubov emphasized that the enemy is suffering real record losses that go beyond usual statistics. In particular, about 270 casualties per day were recorded in the operational zone this week. Most of them are killed. The expert called these figures unprecedentedly high.
Overall picture on the front
Earlier reports indicated that Russian forces are trying to "probe" the Ukrainian defense along almost the entire length of the line of contact. The most difficult situation persists on five key directions. The enemy's strategy remains unchanged: forming a so-called "zone of control" along the entire state border of Ukraine by wedging into the defense and searching for new directions for advancement.
