The official dollar rate for Tuesday, August 25, is set at 44.70 UAH, which is 5 kopecks higher than the previous day's figure. The day before, the US currency stood at 44.65 UAH. Thus, the dollar has maintained its trend of slight but steady appreciation.

Expert forecast: no sharp fluctuations
According to Taras Lesovoy, Director of the Financial Markets and Investment Activities Department of Globus Bank, no sharp daily fluctuations in the currency market are expected in the near term. On the interbank market, the daily "step" in the rate change may be 5–15 kopecks. In commercial banks, fluctuations may reach 10–20 kopecks, and in exchange offices — up to 30 kopecks. Average weekly rate deviations, according to the specialist's estimate, fall within 1–1.5% of the week's starting rate.
Spreads and differences between market segments
The difference between buying and selling rates, according to the expert's forecast, will depend on the segment of the currency market. On the interbank market, the spread may be up to 15 kopecks per dollar and up to 20 kopecks per euro. In commercial banks, the difference reaches 50–60 kopecks per dollar and 80 kopecks to 1 hryvnia per euro. In exchange offices, the spread is forecast at up to 60 kopecks to 1 hryvnia per dollar and 1–1.3 hryvnias per euro. Meanwhile, the average difference between interbank and cash currency market rates may be 10–15 kopecks.
What to expect in the coming days
The totality of the data points to a phase of calm, inertial rate movement: the dollar is gaining height in small steps, while the euro is correcting downward. If current conditions are maintained, the market will likely remain within the described weekly deviations without sharp jumps, and the final cost of currencies for the public will be determined primarily by the spread of a specific segment — from the interbank market to exchange offices.
