The OKKO filling station network and the Come Back Alive competent army assistance foundation are elevating counteraction against modern aerial threats, focusing heavily on combatting jet-powered drones. Within the ongoing 'EYE FOR AN EYE. Dronopad' initiative, the partners have procured and delivered 80 jet interceptor drones worth a total of 13.6 million hryvnias to the frontline for large-scale combat trials.
The Technological Challenge of a New War Era
The emergence of jet strike drones has created a fundamentally new and complex challenge for the Ukrainian air defense system. Such flying vehicles are capable of reaching cruising speeds within 400 to 500 kilometers per hour, accelerating up to 800 kilometers per hour during attacks, and ascending to altitudes exceeding 5,000 meters. Standard FPV interceptors, which the foundation successfully supplies under the current phase of the Dronopad project, are designed to reach speeds of up to 300–350 kilometers per hour. While this arsenal is entirely sufficient for neutralizing conventional Shahed loitering munitions and reconnaissance UAVs, intercepting high-speed jet targets requires completely different aerodynamic and technical characteristics.
Combat Testing and Equipment Refinement
Starting in September of this year, the Come Back Alive foundation team has been actively procuring test samples of advanced drones from various manufacturers for direct transfer to combat units. The first successful intercepts have already been recorded at the front, though organizers emphasize that at this stage, the quality of the result holds priority over the quantity of downed targets. Specialists collect detailed feedback from operators, formulate requirements for optimal technical parameters, and transmit this data to developers for rapid refinement. Financial backing from the OKKO network significantly accelerates this research and production process, allowing for faster scaling of found solutions.
Scale of Assistance and Initiative Prospects
The total amount of funds directed toward supporting the Defense Forces within the joint 'EYE FOR AN EYE. Dronopad' initiative has already exceeded 490 million hryvnias. Vasyl Dmytriv, OKKO Vice President of Marketing and Development, stresses that the war remains in a dynamic state requiring lightning-fast responses to the enemy's technological changes. The fourth wave of the project focuses not merely on supplying finished serial products, but on the continuous search, testing, and improvement of innovative technologies. Citizens can support the continuation of this work by purchasing PULLS fuel at OKKO filling stations or donating accumulated points via the Fishka loyalty program.
Significance of the Project for Defense Capabilities
The development of specialized jet target interceptors can fundamentally shift the balance of power in the frontline zone and reduce the load on basic anti-aircraft missile systems. The successful integration of new drones into the combat formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will help create a layered destruction system for short- and medium-range air threats. Systemic cooperation between large businesses and volunteer organizations demonstrates high efficiency in closing critical frontline needs. The total volume of OKKO's investments in army assistance and national recovery since the full-scale invasion began has already exceeded 4.6 billion hryvnias.
