On August 23, 2026, drones attacked the OZON marketplace logistics complex located in the "Orenburgie" Special Economic Zone in Orenburg. According to RBC-Ukraine, citing the Russian Telegram channel ASTRA, a fire broke out on the facility's premises as a result of the attack. In eyewitness footage analyzed by ASTRA OSINT analysts, a fire truck can be seen moving toward the warehouse. The incident continued a series of strikes on the company's logistics infrastructure.

Official version and city hall data

Orenburg mayor Albert Yumadilov stated that several drones were reportedly shot down over the Special Economic Zone, where industrial enterprises are concentrated. According to him, debris from one of the drones fell on the OZON logistics complex, where the fire began. The fire was subsequently extinguished by EMERCOM personnel. Thus, the official version is that the strike hit the zone, and debris from a downed aircraft landed on the warehouse.

Scale of the incident and the company's response

OZON stated that more than 300 workers were evacuated from the logistics center after the attack. The company temporarily suspended the receipt of goods at the warehouse, and the products stored in the affected center were temporarily removed from the marketplace's storefront. This is a standard procedure that the marketplace applies when there is a threat to the integrity of inventory and the safety of personnel at the facility.

Second strike in two days

The Orenburg complex became the second OZON facility attacked by drones in two days. The day before, on August 22, another company warehouse in Samara Oblast was reportedly hit. Repeated strikes on the marketplace's logistics infrastructure in different regions indicate the targeted nature of the attacks and that OZON's logistics hubs are considered priority targets.

Context: the facility in the "Orenburgie" SEZ

This concerns the logistics complex in Orenburg on the territory of the "Orenburgie" SEZ. The company launched the first phase of the facility in August 2024; its area was about 40,000 square meters. The incident became one of the first major strikes on this infrastructure since its launch and may affect the timeline for restoring warehouse operations and supply chains in the region.
