The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced an update to the state "Rezerv+" app, which is now available to all users on both the iOS and Android platforms. According to RBC-Ukraine, citing the ministry, some users received a notification in the morning urging them to install the new version, which has already appeared in the App Store and Google Play. The update affects a wide range of citizens, as the service is a key tool for interaction with the mobilization system and the registration of those liable for military service.
What changed in the app
The new version of "Rezerv+" is being distributed simultaneously through both official app stores, making it available to both Apple smartphone owners and Android device users. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the update is recommended but, in practice, mandatory for the service to work correctly: users who do not install the new version may find some features unavailable. As seen in the published screenshots, the app screen displays the "Information from the Oberyeg registry" section and the status of residence data, confirming the service's integration with state registries.
Why the service is unstable
The main issue the ministry warns about is the high load on the infrastructure. Because a large number of people are installing the update at the same time, the service may be unstable. In particular, some users are experiencing authorization failures and problems using certain app features. According to the Ministry of Defense, the peak load is linked precisely to the mass migration to the new version, not to scheduled maintenance or a service shutdown.
What users should do
If the update "freezes" or you cannot log in to your account, the Ministry of Defense advises against taking any emergency action; instead, wait a little and try again later. The ministry assured that the situation should stabilize in the near future as the bulk of users finish installing the new version. The recommendation is to be patient and retry authorization once the load on the servers decreases.
Context: deferment for teachers and border checks
The app update comes against the backdrop of expanded "Rezerv+" features for certain categories of citizens. On August 18, it was reported that the Ministry of Defense began testing a new service for teachers: schoolteachers and other school staff can now arrange a deferment from mobilization remotely, without certificates or queues at the CNAP. Previously, this option was already available to researchers at higher education institutions and scientific bodies, making the extension to teachers a logical continuation of the digitization of procedures.
Rumors about checks of women at the border
Separately, the ministry and border guards are responding to rumors circulating in society. On August 21, the State Border Service commented on reports of "Rezerv+" checks on women at the border. The ministry's representative, Andrii Demchenko, stated that border guards do not require this app from women, since the legislation imposes no travel restrictions on them. Thus, the app update and the associated glitches do not change the legal status of women's travel.
