Russian armed forces are carrying out a massive strike on western regions of Ukraine. According to RBC-Ukraine, citing the head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koval, and the head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, Roman Romanyuk, a large number of hostile targets have been detected moving toward Volyn, while an air attack continues in Rivne Oblast, with air defense forces actively engaged. Residents of both regions are urged to immediately proceed to shelters or remain in safe locations.

Debris threat and warnings for residents

Regional military administrations are warning of the threat posed by debris from downed targets and strongly recommend avoiding areas near potentially hazardous facilities — in particular, gas stations. This is a standard but critically important measure: the fall of burning debris from shot-down drones near flammable storage tanks could trigger a large-scale fire and secondary destruction, for which civilian shelters are not prepared.

Strikes on railway infrastructure

Russian forces have again struck railway infrastructure. As Oleksandr Pertsovsky, chairman of the board of "Ukrzaliznytsia," reported, hits were recorded in two cities — Lutsk and Fastiv — as a result of the enemy attack. According to him, casualties and injuries were avoided thanks to safety measures taken in advance: passengers were evacuated from the trains, and employees were removed from their workstations. Pertsovsky emphasized that the enemy attack is ongoing, with swarms of "Shahed" strike drones being detected in the sky, while railway workers continue their work with maximum attention and caution.

Contradictory data

Open sources also report a strike on a stop in Zvyahel in Zhytomyr Oblast, however, at the time of preparing this material, no official information on this incident had been received, and these details remain unconfirmed. In addition, the nature of the damage differs across various statements: on the one hand, there are reports of hits on railway infrastructure in Lutsk and Fastiv, while on the other, nightly reports mention an attack on a passenger train in Lutsk. Both versions agree on one point: thanks to the timely evacuation of passengers, there were no injuries. Until official confirmation is received, details on individual strike points should be considered preliminary.

Course of the nighttime air attack

As a reminder, tonight Russian forces carried out another massive strike on Ukrainian territory, using various types of missiles and strike drones. Air defense forces managed to neutralize the majority of hostile targets. The attack on the western regions — Volyn and Rivne — became a continuation of this wave, during which the adversary is concentrating its efforts on infrastructure and logistics hubs, including railway facilities.
