New Communication Channel for "Rys Pro" and "Rys+"
The Ukrainian company Roboneers has expanded the control capabilities of its ground robotic complexes (GRC) "Rys Pro" and "Rys+" by implementing a Wi-Fi channel. This update was implemented at the request of military personnel operating in areas where traditional communication channels — LTE or Starlink — are unavailable. Now, an operator can connect to the complex via a repeater and control it over Wi-Fi at a distance of up to 60 meters. For this, the platforms received new antennas, and Wi-Fi complements the existing types of communication: digital MESH network, Starlink, and LTE.
Standardization of the "Shablya K2" Combat Module
Roboneers has completed the standardization of the remotely controlled combat module "Shablya K2", which has received permission for official supply to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The module is equipped with two paired AK-74 assault rifles with the ability to fire from both barrels simultaneously or individually. It operates via cable or Starlink and is powered by a built-in source, an external battery, or directly from the GRC. The version is equipped with three cameras: a wide-angle day camera for reconnaissance, a narrow-angle day camera for aimed shooting, and a thermal imaging camera for night operations.
Transfer of 30 "Rys Pro" Complexes to CODE 9.2
Together with the German ARX Robotics, the company Roboneers transferred 30 "Rys Pro" complexes to the 475th Separate Assault Battalion CODE 9.2. The complexes are equipped with a digital MESH network but do not yet have a Wi-Fi channel. This is another stage in the partnership of the two companies, which plan joint production of GRC for the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the framework of the Build with Ukraine initiative. The unit will apply the platforms for several types of tasks — logistics, evacuation, and cargo delivery, which will allow for comprehensive planning of usage scenarios for various missions within a single battalion.
Development of Ground Robotics in 2026
Ground robotics remains one of the priority areas for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Since the beginning of 2026, the department has contracted more than 22,000 ground robotic complexes of Ukrainian production for the Armed Forces — almost twice as many as in the entire previous year. Most platforms are intended for logistics tasks. Related communication and control technologies are also developing: at the end of last week, the company DevDroid updated the Droid Box control system, adding two-way audio communication to ground robots and the ability to move autonomously in no-signal zones.
Contradictory Data
Some sources mention that the "Rys Pro" complexes transferred to CODE 9.2 are already equipped with a Wi-Fi channel. However, the official statement from ARX Robotics and Roboneers indicates that these complexes do not yet have Wi-Fi but are equipped with a digital MESH network. This discrepancy requires clarification from the manufacturers and the military.
