On August 24, 2026, during a hearing of the High Anti-Corruption Court, prosecutor Vitaly Hrechishkin of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office presented materials from the NABU's covert investigative actions in the case known in the procedural documentation as "Forrest Gump." According to him, the former deputy head of the Office of the President, Iryna Mudra, may be in possession of undeclared assets in various forms totaling more than 250 million hryvnias. On the basis of this data, the prosecution requested that the suspect be held in custody, with the alternative of a bail of 150 million hryvnias. A decision on the motion is expected on August 25, 2026.

According to the covert investigative action materials read out in an open court hearing, investigators recorded a number of incomes and property that were not reflected in Mudra's annual declarations filed with the National Agency on Corruption Prevention. First, the prosecutor pointed to a sum of 4 million dollars that, according to the records, former MP and developer Maksym Mykytas transferred to Mudra as part of projects of the company "Ukrbud." Second, data was presented on regular monthly payments of 20 thousand dollars, which, according to the prosecution, grew to 30 thousand dollars per month starting from January 2026. In addition, the list included an undeclared 2023 Land Rover with a market value of over 4 million hryvnias (about 120 thousand euros), premium-segment jewelry, including from the Bulgari brand, as well as funding for the residence and education of Mudra's daughter Karina Shatrova in the USA, estimated at 250 thousand dollars per year.
Context: Where Did the Millions Come From
The case materials include audio recordings of conversations in which, according to the investigation, Mykytas directly mentions the transfer of "almost four million dollars" in connection with "Ukrbud" projects. A separate block of evidence consists of recordings of Mykytas's conversations with Mudra's daughter, from which, according to the SAP's version, it follows that the developer took on the funding of her education and living expenses in Florida "so that mom would be at ease." The prosecutor emphasized that the total of these payments many times exceeds the official income of the deputy head of the Office of the President and is not reflected in the declarations. Mudra's defense, in turn, called the published recordings a manipulation and did not recognize their evidentiary value.
The Defense's Position
Iryna Mudra's lawyers rejected the charges in general, characterizing the investigation's actions as "media pressure." Commenting on the discovered Bulgari jewelry, the defense stated that the jewelry did not belong to the defendant, and she had merely "borrowed it to wear from acquaintances." Fragments of the recordings in which, according to the prosecutor, Mudra mentioned the need to "systematize, control and lead" corruption were explained by the lawyers as a specificity of World Bank terminology, which the official allegedly quoted in a working context. The defense side also expressed the readiness of Kyiv rabbi Markovich to take the suspect on his surety as an alternative to arrest.

The read-out materials contain minor discrepancies in figures and wording. Thus, the value of the car is designated as "Land Rover" in some fragments of the recording and as "Range Rover" in others, although it is probably the same 2023 vehicle. The amount of funding for the daughter's education is cited in different sources as "up to 250 thousand dollars per year" and as "120–250 thousand dollars," which may reflect the difference between actual and maximum expenses. Monthly payments are also indicated in the range of "20–30 thousand dollars," with the prosecutor separately noting that from January 2026 the amount grew to 30 thousand. These discrepancies do not change the overall picture, but they may become a subject of dispute at the stage of considering the motion on the preventive measure.
