The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially approved and authorized for combat use a new development — the reconnaissance-strike ground robotic complex (GRC) «Snake Mini Strike». This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the press service of the department. The machine is equipped with a powerful combat module and is designed to perform tasks in the conditions of modern warfare.
Experience of four years of combat operations
The new platform is the result of joint work by Ukrainian manufacturers and engineers of one of the most effective combat brigades of the Defense Forces. Development was carried out taking into account the analysis of the combat use of robotic complexes in field conditions over the last four years. Engineers have implemented a number of design solutions which, according to the developers, ensure high efficiency indicators when performing missions.
Technical characteristics and mobility
The key advantage of the «Snake Mini Strike» is its compactness and ease of transport. The platform easily fits into the trunk of a minivan, a car trailer or the bed of a pickup truck. No special loading equipment or additional equipment is required for transport, which allows the robot to be quickly redeployed to the combat zone.
Armament and tactical capabilities
The main armament of the complex is a combat module with an MK19 grenade launcher. This weapon stands out for its high kinetic energy of ammunition and versatility of the ammunition used. An important tactical feature is the ability to conduct accurate fire from covered positions, which increases the operator's survivability and the effectiveness of target destruction. In addition, the GRC design allows any other combat module with infantry weapons to be installed on the platform, adapting the robot to specific tasks.
Comprehensive approach to the use of drones
The Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasize that the maximum effect is achieved through the interaction of various types of unmanned systems. Earlier, Ukrainian military demonstrated the work of the Barracuda drone, which in conjunction with other systems attacked enemy positions. The situation is supplemented by information from the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR): Ukraine is developing a new system for maritime drones, capable not only of destroying targets, but also of detaining sanctioned ships in the Black Sea for subsequent confiscation in port.
