On the night of July 26, an event occurred in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea that could significantly influence the tactical situation in the region. Ukrainian military forces conducted a successful operation to destroy Russian air defense equipment directly at its combat position.
Destroying the S-400 "Triumph" Complex
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, fighters from the Department of Unmanned Systems tracked and neutralized a Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile system. The operation was carried out with high precision: the launcher and the 96L6 radar station, a key element of the target detection system, were hit.
The equipment was destroyed by setting it on fire. According to reports, the complex burned at its location, confirming the effectiveness of the Ukrainian reconnaissance and strike groups. The destruction of the 96L6 radar is particularly critical, as it provides target designation for launchers, effectively blinding the air defense system in the sector of engagement.
New Priorities and Expanded Radius
Against the backdrop of successful operations in Crimea, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy coordinated with the military command an updated list of priority targets for long-range strikes on Russian territory. The head of state stated that the technical capabilities of Ukrainian drones allow for strikes at distances exceeding three thousand kilometers.
This statement indicates a strategic shift: the Ukrainian side intends not only to defend its borders but also to actively disable the infrastructure and military facilities of the enemy at a significant distance from the front line.
Situation in Sevastopol
Parallel to the destruction of the complex in Crimea, signs of active work by Ukrainian forces were recorded in Sevastopol. The occupying authorities introduced electricity restrictions in the city, citing network overloads. Simultaneously, an air raid alert was declared with a statement about an alleged drone attack. The combination of power grid issues and the alert indicates that pressure on the peninsula's infrastructure continues.
