Ukrainian intelligence operatives have delivered a precision strike against one of the Russian army's most expensive electronic warfare (EW) systems. On the night of July 26 to 27, specialists from the Unmanned Systems Department of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine struck a 'Murmansk-BN' station located in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Precision strike near Cape Fiolent
The attack was carried out in the area of Cape Fiolent. The operation to track and destroy the target was successful: drone operators located the stationary installation and struck it, disabling the equipment. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing official statements from the Main Directorate of Intelligence.
Destruction of a strategic communications hub
'Murmansk-BN' is not just a radio receiver, but a powerful coastal complex playing a critical role in the enemy's communications and reconnaissance system. The station's technical equipment allows it to conduct radio reconnaissance, intercept, and jam signals in the shortwave range. According to experts, the complex has a range of up to an impressive 5,000 kilometers, making it a strategically important object for coordinating actions over vast territories.
A series of successful operations on the peninsula
The destruction of the EW station is further confirmation of the effectiveness of Ukrainian military tactics on the southern front. Recently, a series of successful strikes against Russian military equipment have been recorded in Crimea. Not long ago, a launcher and a radar of the S-400 surface-to-air missile system were destroyed at a combat position in the occupied region.
New horizons: fighting the shadow fleet
Parallel to ground operations, the Ukrainian side is expanding the scope of application of unmanned technologies. The defense company MAC HUB, together with the GUR, is developing a new strategy to combat the Russian 'shadow fleet'. As part of this project, the use of improved Katran sea drones is planned. Special forces will be able to use them to detect and detain vessels transporting sanctioned cargo, which will deal a serious blow to the enemy's logistics.
