Horrifying details: Torture in a bomb shelter
In the Nerusbaia hromada of the Odessa region, law enforcement agencies are investigating a shocking case of abuse against a minor. An 11-year-old boy became the victim of torment by a group of teenagers who staged a real torture session in a civilian shelter. The incident occurred during a period of heightened anxiety, when the children were in a safe place; however, instead of protection, the child faced sadistic actions by his peers.
According to the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Odessa region, the abuse lasted for several hours. A 13-year-old teenager, who had a personal conflict with the victim, beat and strangled the boy, forcing him to kneel and ask for forgiveness. The other members of the group, including a classmate who lured the child into a trap, watched the events and recorded everything on their phone cameras.
Investigation and qualification of the crime
The victim's mother informed law enforcement officers of the crime several days after the tragedy. The child, who suffered bodily injuries of varying degrees of severity, did not dare to tell his parents about what happened due to threats from the offenders. Currently, within the framework of the criminal proceedings, a number of examinations have been appointed, including a forensic medical examination, to accurately establish the nature of the injuries.
Investigators have entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — "Torture". This is one of the most serious articles, providing for significant prison terms. Based on the results of the investigation, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of each participant in the incident, including those who recorded the torture on video.
Law enforcement reaction and appeal to parents
Police emphasize the importance of parental vigilance in the current situation. "We appeal to parents to pay attention to their children, notice changes in mood and behavior, and inquire about their well-being. If problems are detected, seek help immediately," the police noted. The tragedy in the Nerusbaia hromada served as another reminder that even in shelters, children can be vulnerable to the cruelty of their peers.
Context: Rise in violence among teenagers in the region
This incident is not an isolated case in the region. Previously, official investigations were conducted in Odessa due to conflicts involving minors and adults in military uniforms. The investigation also uncovered new details of torture in the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRC), where men were subjected to violence and passwords for their phones were extorted. Experts note a rise in the level of aggression and violence among young people, which requires strengthening preventive measures and adult control.
