Poland intends to deepen defense cooperation with Ukraine, focusing in particular on the field of unmanned technologies and joint manufacturing projects. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski during a briefing for Ukrainian journalists in Warsaw, emphasizing the high practical value of Ukrainian expertise in modern warfare conditions.

A New Level of Technological Partnership

The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry noted that Warsaw and Kyiv already have successful experience interacting in the military-technical sphere. Ukraine actively purchases Polish drones from WB Electronics and also uses Piorun MANPADS. Radoslaw Sikorski personally visited the frontline near Bakhmut, where he saw firsthand the effectiveness of Polish Krab self-propelled artillery systems firing American Excalibur shells.

According to the minister, amid the full-scale war, the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex has acquired unprecedented and unique combat experience in using and modernizing drones. The Polish side, including both the state and private defense sectors, expresses absolute readiness to integrate into these processes and conclude new contracts, including a potential Drone Deal.

Integration into Coalitions and Economic Presence

An important step in strengthening allied relations was the recent announcement of Poland joining the ballistic coalition, which was discussed during talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Polish technology companies possess the necessary competencies to seamlessly complement Ukraine's defense capabilities.

In addition to military-technical cooperation, Sikorski drew attention to the large-scale presence of Polish business in Ukraine. To date, over 3,000 enterprises with Polish participation operate in the country, with about 300 of them having launched operations after the full-scale Russian invasion began, demonstrating long-term investor confidence in Ukraine's future.

Contradictory Data

While Polish officials confirm maximum involvement in supporting Ukraine and developing joint defense projects, expert circles discuss the pace and logistical capabilities of scaling drone production. Some analysts point to bureaucratic hurdles and the need for faster certification of new developments, yet Warsaw and Kyiv declare their readiness to promptly resolve emerging issues to strengthen NATO's eastern flank.
