Ukraine has developed and manufactured a dump truck from the American brand Ford, capable of carrying out transport tasks under remote control by an operator. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from the 783rd GOST Brigade. The published photo shows a white Ford F-Line dump truck with its bed raised, parked on a lot in front of a municipal enterprise building, above which the Ukrainian flag flies and the coat of arms with the trident is displayed.

Robotizing Logistics at the Front

According to brigade representatives, the project is aimed at introducing new technological solutions and, above all, at preserving human life. "We are working on new solutions. We are implementing technologies. We are preserving the most important thing — human life. We have created a remotely controlled dump truck for the transport and delivery of cargo," the 783rd GOST Brigade noted. Thus, this is not a serial civilian vehicle, but a specialized military solution adapted to the tasks of supply and transport under combat conditions.

How the System Works

The main goal of the development is to minimize the risk to personnel. The operator controls the dump truck remotely, and the vehicle performs the necessary transport tasks without the constant presence of a driver in the cab. "This is not simply a modernization of equipment. This is a practical solution aimed at preserving the life and health of military personnel," the soldiers added. This approach moves the human out of the zone of immediate risk into a protected position and allows routine but dangerous cargo delivery tasks to be carried out without the crew having to disembark in a shelled area.

It is reported that the dump truck has already completed the full cycle of testing, confirming the readiness of the development for practical application. At the same time, the brigade does not specify the control range, the type of communication used, or a number of other technical characteristics. The absence of public data on the operating radius and communication channel is typical for military projects, where such parameters are often classified information.

Context: The Trend Toward Ground Robotic Complexes

The creation of a remotely controlled dump truck fits into a broader trend of robotizing ground vehicles. Earlier, the Turkish defense company FNSS presented the U-MAV (Multi-Purpose Modular Unmanned Amphibious Vehicle), a floating ground robotic complex, which reaches a speed of up to 7 knots on water and 70 km/h on land. It was also noted that the Protector robotic complex doubled its payload capacity and received a new type of communication. Taken together, these examples show that ground robotic complexes are becoming an increasingly prominent part of the armament and logistics of defense forces.
