Between October 16 and 17, 2026, Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of successful strikes against military and logistical facilities belonging to the Russian army. The targets included a railway bridge in Russia's Bryansk region, as well as logistics depots and a UAV command post in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. This was officially reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Strike on Strategic Logistics in Bryansk Region

During a nighttime operation, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces recorded a hit on a railway bridge across the Unecha River, located near the settlement of Sloboda-Seletska in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation. This facility was actively used by the Russian side for uninterrupted military transport operations.

As noted in the military summary, the destruction or damage of this transport artery will significantly complicate the logistics and supply lines of the enemy troop grouping. This route was utilized for delivering critical resources, including ammunition, fuels and lubricants, and heavy military equipment.

Strikes on Depots and UAV Posts in Donbas

Simultaneously with the operation on Russian territory, the Ukrainian military launched a series of precise strikes against the enemy's rear infrastructure in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. Russian material and technical depots in the areas of Novoandriivka, Nikolske, and Mariupol came under fire.

Additionally, a specialized enemy UAV command post was successfully attacked near the settlement of Malynivka in the Donetsk region. This operation reduced the Russian army's capability to coordinate reconnaissance and strike drones in this sector of the frontline.

Systemic Campaign Against Military Facilities

The General Staff emphasized that targeted combat operations to eliminate critical facilities of Russian military infrastructure will continue until the complete cessation of the armed aggression. These operations are part of a broader strategy to exhaust the logistical and technical potential of Russian forces.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian army regularly conducts long-range precision operations. In previous days of October, Ukrainian forces successfully struck the 55Zh6U 'Nebo-U' radar station in the Krasnodar Krai, as well as storage and launch sites for strike UAVs and depots near Donetsk, Popova Balka, and Horniak.
