In the conditions of modern warfare, where every extra step a soldier takes can be fatal, technology has become not just a tool, but a factor of survival. The Ukrainian company "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" has presented an updated version of the Ground Robotic Complex (GRC) "Protector", which has undergone serious modernization directly based on combat experience.

From Theory to Practice: Why the Robot Became More Powerful

The decision to modernize was made not in the designers' office, but based on the results of actual operation at the front line. It turned out that the actual capabilities of the platform significantly exceed the previously declared characteristics. The developers did not limit themselves to the old framework and improved the design to unlock the machine's potential.

The main change concerned the payload capacity. If previously the robot could carry 770 kg, now this figure has risen to 1480 kg. This is almost a twofold increase, which radically changes logistics on the front line.

Technical Innovations: Airbags and Communication

In order for the machine to work stably with such a serious load on rough terrain, engineers equipped the "Protector" GRC with airbags in the rear suspension. This solution allows the robot to confidently overcome difficult sections without losing controllability under the weight of the cargo.

In addition to mechanics, the "digital" core was also modernized. Specialists updated the control and communication system. Now the complex is equipped with an additional communication channel, which significantly improves reliability in complex conditions where standard channels may be overloaded or blocked.

Efficiency: 15 Tons in a Month

The numbers speak for themselves. One "Protector" complex transported more than 15 tons of cargo in just one month, performing an average of up to 20 missions. This is not just statistics — this is real help for the fighters. One such mission can provide a unit with a supply of food, ammunition, and other property for approximately a week.

The company "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" emphasizes that the process of improving equipment is ongoing and directly depends on feedback from military units. Robots are adapting to the real needs of the front.

Growing Demand and State Deliveries

Demand for such technologies is growing rapidly. As Viktor Pavlov, founder of the GRC School and officer of the GRC Battalion of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, reported, in Ukraine over the last six months, the number of missions using ground robotic complexes has more than doubled.

However, large-scale equipment of the army remains a task that is currently being solved by enthusiasts and private initiatives. The first centralized deliveries of equipment from the state are expected only at the end of summer. Until then, it is these modernized complexes, such as "Protector", that take on the critically important role of delivering cargo in the rear and at the front.
