Ukrainians can expect predominantly sunny and dry weather on Friday, July 17. However, meteorologists warn of an uneven distribution of atmospheric phenomena across the country: while an anticyclone will cover most regions, local precipitation is possible in the southeast.
According to a forecast published by synoptician Natalka Didenko, the weather in the country will be dictated by an anticyclone named Laurent. It is this atmospheric vortex that will ensure the absence of precipitation in most regions, creating ideal conditions for walks and outdoor recreation.
Temperature regime and regional differences
The daytime heat on Friday will be moderate and comfortable. On average across the country, the maximum air temperature will range from +25°C to +29°C. It will feel cooler in the northeast of Ukraine, where thermometers will show a range from +22°C to +24°C.
In Kyiv, residents are in for a classic summer day with excellent weather. The capital will not be affected by rain, and the daytime air temperature will reach about +25°C. At night, the mercury columns in the city will drop to +21°C, which is also a comfortable indicator for relaxation.
Where precipitation is expected
Despite the dominance of the anticyclone, the day will not be completely without precipitation. In the southeast of Ukraine, a cold atmospheric front may trigger local thunderstorms. Residents of these regions should be more attentive to weather changes.
Experts note that current weather conditions allow for peaceful gardening and landscaping work, as well as the performance of public duties without the risk of getting caught in a downpour.
Forecast for the weekend
The weather for the upcoming weekend, July 18 and 19, is also expected to be generally favorable. However, the synoptician warned of possible changes on Sunday, July 19. Thunderstorms are forecast in the western regions of Ukraine, which may be accompanied by downpours and squalls.
This forecast is relevant against the backdrop of recent weather anomalies in early July, when some regions of the country faced extreme heat and heavy downpours, which negatively affected the future harvest.
