In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, a sharp deterioration in weather conditions is expected in the coming hours. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has declared the first (yellow) level of danger in the capital. The cause for concern is the forecasted thunderstorms, which will be accompanied by strong winds and short-term precipitation.
Weather forecast for July 13 and 14
According to forecasters, the bad weather will begin soon and last until the end of the day on July 13. The thunderstorm front will persist throughout the following day as well — July 14. Variable cloudiness with clearings is expected, however, short-term rain will be a frequent occurrence.
The wind will blow predominantly from the north-west. Its speed will range from 5 to 10 meters per second. The temperature background on these days will be moderate: at night the air will warm up to +17...+19°C, and during the day the thermometer columns will rise to +25...+27°C.
Recommendations for city residents
Specialists are urging Kyiv residents to exercise maximum caution during the period of bad weather. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by falling trees or advertising structures, so it is recommended to avoid staying under tall objects and not to park cars near old trees.
In the event of emergency situations on the city streets — falling branches, damage to power lines, or other incidents — citizens should immediately contact the relevant rescue services.
Weather in other regions of Ukraine
On a national scale, the situation is non-uniform. Rain is forecast in the western and northern regions, locally in the central part of Ukraine, and also in the south of the Odesa region. Dry weather is expected in the rest of the country.
The maximum air temperature across the country during the day will range from +22°C to +28°C. Starting Tuesday, July 14, warming will arrive in Ukraine. However, forecasters assure that it will be comfortable, and anomalous heat is not forecast.
