Historic Visit: Zelensky's First Official Trip to Belgrade
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will make his first official visit to Serbia, where he will meet with Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic. The meeting will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026 — marking Zelensky's first visit to Belgrade since assuming the presidency of Ukraine. Previously, the leaders had met exclusively at international forums and summits outside both countries.
The visit holds symbolic significance: it marks a new stage in bilateral relations, which previously developed primarily through diplomatic channels and visits at the level of vice-premiers. In May 2026, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka already visited Serbia, which became an important step towards deepening the dialogue.
