Scientists discovered a new 170-million-year-old ancient crocodile species, Ctenosuchus tenuidens, with ultra-thin toothpick-like teeth that fed on small fish in Morocco.

The Chicxulub asteroid impact 66 million years ago not only destroyed the dinosaurs but also created an underwater hydrothermal system that supported life for 8 million years.

A new dinosaur species, Kairasaurus changliensis, living 125 million years ago, has been discovered in China. This herbivore with massive claws surprised scientists with its teeth and size.

Scientists have revised the theory of dinosaur extinction: it's not sulfur, but soot. Analysis of a rare asteroid showed that a dust cloud, rather than gases, caused the impact winter and destroyed Earth's ecosystem 66 million years ago. 🦖🌑

Scientists have rewritten the dinosaur extinction scenario: the Chicxulub asteroid was a rare CO chondrite from the fringes of the Solar System. 🌌 It turns out sulfur was not the main cause of the "impact winter" — dust doomed the planet. 🦕💥
