The Verkhovna Rada committee backed a new version of the draft law on VAT for distance purchases under €150: the marketplace itself will collect the tax, and the launch has been postponed to July 2027.

The Cabinet of Ministers has prepared a bill introducing VAT on foreign orders placed through electronic interfaces up to a value of €150. The document harmonizes legislation with EU norms and, according to estimates, could bring the budget approximately 10 billion UAH per year.

On 1 September, the Verkhovna Rada for the second time failed to gather enough votes to scrap the duty-free threshold on parcels under €150: 194 out of the required 226 voted in favour. Prime Minister Haidai linked the failure to the risk to 30 billion dollars of aid.

The IMF has agreed to postpone the introduction of VAT for individual entrepreneurs (FOP) in Ukraine to 2028. 🇺🇦💰 Authorities received a postponement due to the complexity of the reform during wartime, but pledged to pass the law by April 2027. 📉
