A serious incident involving a violation of airspace is unfolding in Poland. On July 30, the country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk officially confirmed the intrusion of an unidentified object into the republic's airspace. The situation requires an immediate response, and the head of government has already convened an emergency coordination group.
Emergency Government Response
Tusk made a statement about the incident on the social network X. According to him, the incident occurred against the backdrop of a massive missile strike by Russia on the western regions of Ukraine. In connection with this, the Prime Minister was forced to cancel his planned visit to the Lower Silesian Voivodeship to personally oversee the situation.
The coordination group, which includes the Minister of Defense and representatives of the relevant services, will meet in the coming hours. The services have been working at the scene for several hours, systematically providing the government with information on all circumstances of what happened.
Explosions and Missing Target
An air raid alert was declared overnight in eastern Poland. As local media report, loud explosions were heard in the Lublin Voivodeship, in the area of the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia. Later, a large crater was found in a field near the village, which is presumed to have been formed by the fall of an unidentified object.
The Polish Armed Forces stated that they detected an object moving in a westerly direction. However, the target quickly disappeared from radar screens before full identification. At the moment, authorities do not rule out the version that one or two missiles may have entered the country, but there is no official confirmation of this information yet.
Situation on the Ground
The Polish government leans towards the opinion that a Russian missile may have fallen in the Tarnawa-Kolonia area, however, there is no official confirmation of this version. At present, rescuers and police are working at the scene of the incident. Polish authorities are not in a hurry to disclose details, continuing to collect data and investigate the circumstances of the border violation.
