Some Ukrainian pensioners have the legal right to receive several types of allowances and supplements to their main payment simultaneously. The Pension Fund of Ukraine has clarified the key nuances of the current legislation regulating this issue, emphasizing that certain types of financial assistance can be combined.
Which Supplements Can Be Combined
According to current regulations, a citizen can simultaneously receive a basic retirement or disability pension, an increase for the special status of a war veteran, a care allowance, and payments for minor children. Additionally, a special increase may be accrued for living or working in settlements officially granted the status of mountainous areas.
Conditions for Supporting Families with Children
A separate and extremely important category of recipients consists of non-working pensioners who have dependent minor children under the age of 18. To process such a monthly supplement, the pensioner must meet several criteria: not engage in official employment and not be registered as a sole proprietor (FOP).
Restrictions and the Need to Choose
Despite the wide range of available benefits and supplements, Ukrainian legislation provides clear restrictions. In a number of cases, when laws or regulations provide for processing several mutually exclusive payments, the pensioner will have to choose only one, most financially beneficial option.
