On August 7, 2026, Yalta, the resort capital of Crimea, found itself at the epicenter of a new wave of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Debris from the drone crashed onto a crowded beach, killing 7 people, including three children. Another 47 were injured, four of them in critical condition. It was the fear of repeating this tragedy that forced Yalta authorities to act decisively: people were evacuated beyond the cordon even before the drone was destroyed.

The attack on Yalta was not an isolated incident. It is part of a large-scale night operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine across the entire peninsula. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of August 7, key military objects were successfully struck. In particular, a major communications hub and an early warning radar station near the village of Olenivka were destroyed.
