The final decade of October 2026 in Ukraine features relatively warm weather without sharp temperature anomalies. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, current temperature readings remain 3 to 7 degrees Celsius above the climatic norm, although by the end of the month the situation will begin to shift toward cooler air masses.
Weather features for the weekend of October 24–25
Throughout Saturday and Sunday, October 24–25, weather conditions across Ukraine will be shaped by an anticyclone originating from the northeast. This high-pressure field acts as a barrier to an atmospheric front moving from Western Europe, dividing the country into zones of precipitation and clear skies. Light to moderate rains are forecasted in Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions, while nighttime precipitation will also affect Kyiv region, Kherson region, and Crimea.
At the same time, temperature backgrounds remain high over the weekend. Nighttime thermometer readings range from +7 to +14 degrees Celsius, except for the western regions, where the temperature dropped to +1 to +6 degrees on Saturday night. During the day, air temperatures in most regions warm up from +11 to +18 degrees, supported by moderate southeasterly winds carrying relatively warm air masses.
Shifting synoptic situation and rain on Monday
At the start of the new week, on Monday, October 26, a new atmospheric front will approach Ukraine from the west. The previous front will have already lost intensity by then, but moderate rains will persist in the western and northern oblasts. The wind on this day in the western part of the country will shift to a westerly direction, heralding further restructuring of synoptic processes.
Starting Tuesday, October 27, temperature indicators will begin a gradual decline due to air currents shifting to northwesterly directions. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +2 to +7 degrees, while in the southeast they will range from +5 to +10 degrees. On Wednesday, October 28, precipitation is likely mainly in the east and southeast of the country, while the rest of the regions will experience dry weather.
Expected cold snap at the end of October and November outlook
A more noticeable drop in air temperature is forecasted by meteorologists starting Thursday, October 29, when an even cooler air mass with a northern component begins to flow into Ukraine. At night, thermometers will show from +1 to +7 degrees, while daytime temperatures will range between +8 and +14 degrees.
Thus, the end of October 2026 will pass without sharp freezes or extreme frosts. Experts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center note that forecasting frosts so far in advance is premature due to uncertainties regarding cloud cover, but the trend toward a gradual approach to seasonal norms remains stable.
