The European Commission has confirmed its intention to channel at least €10 billion of SAFE programme residuals into joint defence projects with Ukraine. Poland expressed surprise: Warsaw had expected to use these funds for its own needs.

Ukraine received a fourth tranche of €3.3 billion from the EU under the Ukraine Support Loan program. The funds will be used to purchase missiles, ammunition, and drones for the Defense Forces.

People's Deputy Olena Vasylievska-Smahliuk stated that from September 15 only three key sectors are being funded in Ukraine. Experts warn of the risk of losing part of the $29.5 billion in external financing.

Alena Hetmanchuk, Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, stated that through the end of 2026 Ramstein and PURL will focus on financing defense packages already approved by the US. Three countries — Australia, New Zealand, and Japan — have already made contributions.
