🧬 American scientists have created 16 new viruses with the help of AI! 🦠 Researchers used genomic language models (Evo 1 and Evo 2) to design bacteriophages. Out of 285 synthesized constructs, 16 proved viable and successfully destroyed E. coli bacteria. One of the viruses (Evo-Φ2147) is so unique that it can be considered a new species (93% different from natural analogues).
