In August 2026, the state support system for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine continues to operate according to the approved schedule. According to the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 709, living allowance payments will be made in two stages: the first part of the funds will be credited to accounts by the 15th, and the second part by August 28. However, for uninterrupted receipt of financial assistance, IDPs must strictly comply with new requirements for updating personal data.

Payment Schedule and Amounts in 2026

The financial support amounts established for the current year remain unchanged. Adult IDPs receive 2,000 UAH per month, while families with children and persons with disabilities are entitled to an increased payment of 3,000 UAH. The exact date of crediting funds may vary slightly depending on the speed of payment processing by the State Treasury Service and banking institutions; however, the target dates of the 15th and 28th of the month remain.

Critical Requirement: Data Update

The Government of Ukraine warns that timely updating of information is a key condition for the continuous receipt of assistance. Certain categories of citizens are obliged to personally contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) or Centers for Provision of Administrative Services (TSNAP). Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the suspension of payments. This measure is aimed at the targeted distribution of budget funds and the exclusion of duplicate payments or payments to individuals who no longer meet the neediness criteria.

Long-term Support and Housing Issues

Financial support for the most vulnerable categories of IDPs is provided for 30 months from the date of initial registration for assistance. Parallel to cash payments, as of August 1, 2026, the rules for using housing vouchers have changed: some IDPs have lost the right to receive them, but for other categories, a new mechanism for using the voucher as a down payment for a mortgage has appeared. In addition, IDPs can take advantage of a tax deduction for housing rent by submitting the corresponding declaration and providing supporting documents.

Status of IDP Certificate

Despite the adoption of a new law on IDPs, existing IDP status certificates remain valid until a certain date. Citizens do not currently need to change their documents, but it is important to monitor current deadlines to avoid problems when receiving social guarantees. Timely information about status and place of residence allows the state to effectively manage resources and provide support to those who truly need it.
