Trump's special envoy Jared Kushner stated in Kyiv that the US is preparing a 'peace package' — a comprehensive mechanism for a long-term settlement of the conflict. The delegation's visit was the first and included preliminary consultations in Moscow.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that, against the backdrop of Russian escalation, some delegations have postponed their visits to Kyiv, without naming them directly. Earlier reports mentioned a possible trip by Witkoff and Kushner on September 5–6.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Sibiga announced an imminent new impetus to peace efforts from Kyiv and its allies, including the US. The minister confirmed continuous contact with the American negotiating team and urged the public to watch for a 'new dynamic' in diplomacy.

Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov proposed that the US create a "drone army" in exchange for Patriot interceptors and announced plans to attract American investment into a Ukrainian defense technology fund.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Budanov told La Stampa that deliveries of interceptor missiles for Patriot in 2026 will be lower than in 2025 and insufficient to counter ballistic strikes. He did not name specific figures.

The US, according to sources, asked Kyiv to refrain from strikes on Moscow during the visit of a US delegation. A C-17 aircraft carrying CIA Director Ratcliffe arrived at Vnukovo, which the Kremlin does not confirm.
