In mid-September 2026, UCAB analyst Maksym Hopska explained that the August price drop on vegetables was a result of the new harvest, which is now fading. Tomatoes became 24.76% cheaper, peppers 9.40% cheaper, cucumbers 0.54% more expensive; in autumn the price increase may intensify, but there is no shortage.

Over the week, cucumbers, hot peppers, green onions and parsley rose noticeably in price in Ukraine. Tomatoes became the leader in the number of offers, while apples lead on the fruit market; the price of potatoes did not change.

At the end of August 2026, the borscht vegetable set in Ukraine is getting cheaper: potatoes cost around 19 UAH/kg, carrots — 25.65 UAH/kg. UCAB and AAC experts warn that from the beginning of November, when the market switches to greenhouse vegetables, prices may rise by 20–30% or more.
