Italian defense conglomerate Leonardo has registered a subsidiary 'Leonardo Ukraine' in Kyiv for defense R&D. The move brings the group closer to Ukrainian drones, missile armament, and testing of the 'Michelangelo Dome' air defense system.

Igor Fedirko, Executive Director of the Council of Weapon Makers, stated that Brave1 could become the first step in creating a Ukrainian analogue of DARPA, although the main obstacle remains the legislation, which does not provide for a right to fail.
