The Houthi leader has provided official security guarantees to the EU and US, promising not to target their ships while focusing military efforts against Saudi Arabia.

Over the weekend the White House shifted its position several times on a strike against Yemen's Houthis: from a tendency to rule it out, to an order for the Pentagon to prepare, and then to a postponement, not wanting to expand the battlefield.
