According to RBC-Ukraine, on September 16 eggs and part of the dairy range became more expensive in Ukrainian supermarkets, while buckwheat and oil held their prices. We break down what changed in «Silpo», ATB, Novus and «Auchan».

Lesser-known brands are increasingly appearing on Ukrainian supermarket shelves. Experts explain this not as a shortage, but as a logistics restructuring following strikes on warehouses: delivery times have grown, and the assortment depends on route availability.

Agrarian Policy Minister Taras Vysotsky stated that restrictions on the sale of products in supermarkets are premature and only fuel panic. The Cabinet of Ministers asserts that there is no shortage of sugar, grains or oil in the country.

RBC-Ukraine recorded another price increase for chicken eggs in the Silpo, Novus and ATB chains. Meanwhile, bread, buckwheat, milk and sunflower oil have kept their prices stable.

After the weekend, eggs and bread saw targeted price increases in Ukrainian supermarkets: an egg at Auchan rose to 4.40 UAH, and sliced bread at Silpo — to 13.69 UAH. Buckwheat and sunflower oil kept stable prices.

The ATB chain has refuted rumors of a full withdrawal from Kherson: stores continue to operate wherever the security situation allows. Only objects damaged as a result of shelling have been closed.

On September 2, eggs, sunflower oil and toast bread at ATB became more expensive in Ukrainian supermarkets. Buckwheat and 450 g milk kept their previous prices, while Novus launched a promotion on ultra-pasteurized milk.

As of September 1, promotional prices in Ukrainian supermarkets fell for sunflower oil and eggs in the Silpo chain, while in ATB, Auchan, and Novus price tags on basic items remained at the level of August 31.

RBC-Ukraine experts explained that after the strikes on retailers' warehouses there will be no physical shortage, but delivery could take up to a week, and prices on basic products will rise due to logistics.

As of August 25, prices on milk and bread at Silpo, ATB, Novus and Auchan have largely converged, while the gap between chains on buckwheat, sunflower oil and eggs reaches 15 hryvnias.

As of August 24, 2026, RBC-Ukraine updated its price monitoring at Sillpo, ATB, Novus, and Auchan: eggs from 34 UAH, oil from 49 UAH. Oil and bread are getting cheaper, eggs are getting more expensive, and buckwheat is going into short supply.

On August 21, prices for socially significant goods were updated in Ukrainian chains 'Silpo', ATB, Novus, and 'Auchan': eggs and milk are becoming more expensive, buckwheat is again in 'shortage', while oil and bread have become cheaper.
