Over the weekend ending August 31, 2026, eggs in Ukrainian supermarkets rose by 15–27%: at ATB, a dozen of "Svoya Liiniia" grew to 62.40 UAH, while at Auchan, C1 rose to 44 UAH. Prices for milk, oil, and buckwheat remained unchanged.

At the end of August 2026, the borscht vegetable set in Ukraine is getting cheaper: potatoes cost around 19 UAH/kg, carrots — 25.65 UAH/kg. UCAB and AAC experts warn that from the beginning of November, when the market switches to greenhouse vegetables, prices may rise by 20–30% or more.

Wheat futures in Chicago have reached a three-year high amid threats of escalation in the Black Sea. Exports from Ukraine and Russia are declining, and buyers are seeking alternatives in Australia and Argentina.

Oxford Economics forecasts an 11.8% rise in global food prices in 2026: wheat could become 36% more expensive amid strikes in the Black Sea, drought and rising fertilizer and diesel prices.

As of August 20, RBC-Ukraine recorded divergent dynamics in Silpo, ATB, Novus, and Auchan: oil and bread prices dropped, while milk and eggs continue to rise.
