Since August 27, Russia has been carrying out continuous strikes on Kyiv with jet-powered 'Geran-4' and 'Geran-5' drones, and by November it plans to raise their share in attacks to 80%. The main bottleneck remains Chinese turbojet engines.

Ukrainian air defense has been shooting down Geran-5 jet-powered drones for the second day in a row in the Kyiv region. Expert "Flash" explained why interceptor drones are largely ineffective against this threat.

In August, Russia deployed more than 2,800 jet drones, including the new "Geran-4" and "Geran-5", to overload Ukraine's air defense. The speed of the new models is twice that of previous versions, making interception more difficult.

On the day of August 24, a jet-powered drone struck a residential apartment building in the center of Chernihiv. Twenty people were injured, including two children; there are no fatalities, and the fire has been extinguished.
