UkrGMs has published its assessment of Ukraine's river water levels for August 2026: low-water conditions intensified in a number of basins, and on the Stokhody River near Liubeshiv the runoff ceased entirely from 5 August.

A historical record low has been recorded on the Dnister near Zaleschychky: the water flow rate dropped to 24 m³/s — below the minimum levels of the 131-year observation period. Hydrologists warn of further water level declines through 31 August.

🌊 July 2026 was critical for Ukrainian rivers: the water volume of most waterways was significantly below normal. Precipitation deficit up to 80% across most of the country, although in some areas — downpours up to 300% of the norm. Ecosystems are under threat, especially on the Southern Bug and Pripyat.
