The Ukrainian interceptor drone "General Chereshnya Bullet" has for the first time destroyed a Russian jet drone "Geran-4", reaching speeds of up to 500 km/h.

On the morning of September 17, 2026, Russian military forces struck the "Epitsentr" shopping center in Kharkiv with a jet-powered drone. A 65-year-old employee was injured, and an investigation has been opened under the article on war crimes.

After a drone strike on the office of the head of the SBU in Kyiv, Ukrainian experts identified the debris as a 'Geran-4', while air defense systems recorded a route from Donetsk at an altitude of over 7 km. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry called the attack a rejection of diplomacy by Moscow.

Since August 27, Russia has been carrying out continuous strikes on Kyiv with jet-powered 'Geran-4' and 'Geran-5' drones, and by November it plans to raise their share in attacks to 80%. The main bottleneck remains Chinese turbojet engines.

Kirill Liukov, head of the unmanned technologies department at the Prutuly Foundation, stated that the priority for destroying jet-powered drones will be inexpensive short-range interceptor missiles capable of engaging 'Geran-4,' 'Banderol' drones, and cruise missiles.

Kirill Lyukov, head of the drone technologies department at the Prytula Foundation, explained why jet-powered Shaheds are hard to shoot down and which air defense means actually work against them.

In August, Russia deployed more than 2,800 jet drones, including the new "Geran-4" and "Geran-5", to overload Ukraine's air defense. The speed of the new models is twice that of previous versions, making interception more difficult.

The SBU has opened a criminal case over a Russian "Geran-4" drone strike on warehouses in the village of Milla in Kyiv Oblast. According to official data, at least 37 people were killed and around 130 houses were damaged.

🚨 Jet drones reach western Ukraine for the first time, flying 900 km! 🇺🇦 Today, August 18, 2026, an unprecedented flight of Russian UAVs through Vinnytsia, Ternopil, and Rivne region was recorded. Experts link this to the implementation of mesh networks and new "Geran-4/5" models. Explosions were also recorded in Kyiv and Brovary. 🚀🔥 #Ukraine #Drones #Geran #MilitarySituation

⚠️ ATTENTION: A new type of fraud has been recorded in Ukraine. Businesses are receiving letters from 'Shahed owners' demanding a ransom for safety. Presidential advisor Serhiy 'Flash' Beskrestnov called this nonsense and urged people not to believe it. Background: Russia is modernizing 'Geran-4' drones, while Ukraine is developing ZIRKA interceptors. Scammers are using the fear of new technologies to extort money. 🚫 Attacks cannot be 'bought off' — this is a fake!

Russian forces have upgraded the jet drone "Geran-4 Siker", equipping it with new optics and a terminal guidance system for attacks without communication. 🇷🇺🚁 Experts note the appearance of Chinese cameras and powerful engines, which complicates interception by air defense. In response, Ukraine is developing a new ZIRKA system. 🇺🇦🛡️

Ukraine has presented the ZIRKA interceptor drone with artificial intelligence to combat 'Geran-4'. The system automatically guides the warhead, eliminating operator errors, and is already preparing for an update to version 2.0 with a thermal imager. 🚀🤖

Russia struck the ATB supermarket in Chernihiv with a drone. Among the victims are a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. Zelenskyy called the attack cynical and meaningless. 🇺🇦💔
